Nothing leaves your machine. ClipinVault stores all clipboard data — text, images, and formatting — in a local SQLite database on your device. There are no servers involved, no telemetry, and no usage tracking. The app works entirely offline.
Privacy Policy
Short version: we don't collect anything. All your clipboard data stays strictly on your machine.
Last Updated: March 25, 2026What the App Collects
AES-256 Secret Mode
When you mark a clip as "Secret," it is encrypted using AES-256 before being written to disk. The encryption key is managed by your operating system's native credential store — Windows Credential Manager, Linux Secret Service API, or macOS Keychain. We never have access to your keys or content.
What the Website Collects
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. We don't run any analytics or tracking scripts. GitHub may log standard server-side data (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of their hosting infrastructure, which is governed by GitHub's privacy policy.
Data Sharing
There is zero third-party data sharing. We don't share, sell, or transfer your data to anyone. ClipinVault doesn't integrate with any third-party services, ad networks, or analytics platforms.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the changes here with a new date. The core principle remains unchanged: your data stays yours, and it stays on your device.
